Joint seat allocation authority or JoSAA held its first meeting on 2 May 2018 at IIT-Kanpur campus where it announced the names of all the institutes that will participate in Joint Seat allocation for the admissions of candidates who got through JEE Main 2018 and JEE Advanced 2018. The procedure of seat allocation will commence on 25 June 2018 where 88 institutions like IIITs, ISM Dhanbad, NITs, IITs and GFTIs will participate for the upcoming academic year 2018-19.

What is JoSAA? (Complete details)

JOSAA 2018 registration & choice filling start on 15th June to 18th June

JoSAA 2018 registration & choice filling details: JoSSA is also known as joint seat allocation authority. On May 2nd,2018 the first meeting of JoSSA took place. A mutual agreement was signed between the JAB (Joint Admission Boards), CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) and JEE advanced, JoSSA, which is offered for 2018-19 by 88 institutes, will do JoSAA 2018 seat allocation. As JoSSA is responsible for seat allocation , it helps in making the process faster , efficient and smooth.

Spot round registration

For choice filling JoSSA 2018 registration is required. The students can visit ‘www.jeemain.nic.in’ to know more about JEE ( mains ) 2018. The candidates have to visit the website ‘www.jeemain.nic.in’ for the online registration of JEE (advanced ) 2018.

The students will have to get themselves registered if they want to appear in JEE advanced 2018. Registrationshould be done on time, it should not be late otherwise it will be cancelled. There are total five eligibility criteria’s which need to be fulfilled by the students. Not even a single criteria can be left unfulfilled.

The student can also register himself for JEE ( advanced ) , if while registering for JEE mains 2018, he did not opt for JEE advanced, 2018. After the completion of the application, it can not be withdrawn. Moreover , the fees is also not transferable and refundable.

JoSSA 2018 Choice Filling

After registration only, the JoSAA choice filling is possible. If the registration is successful , the candidates will be able to select their choice of institutes and branches. From June 15, 2018 to June 18, 2018 , for JEE mains the choice filling can be done. The JoSAA choice filling should be done very sensibly by the students , as the seats will be allocated to the students that way only.

(JEE Advanced/Main) JOSAA 2018 Rank List

JoSAA will allocate seats to the qualifying candidates of JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2018 on the basis of rank list. The JoSAA 2018 Rank List for JEE Advanced will be prepared by JAB, whereas rank list of JEE Main will be made by JEE Apex Board. Successful candidates will be given admissions to 90 participating institutes (IITs, ISM Dhanbad, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs) after joint counselling. JEE Advanced 2018 Rank List: AIRs will be declared tentatively in June

JoSAA 2018 Rank List for admission to IITs and ISM, Dhanbad will be prepared by JAB based on the performance of candidates in JEE Advanced 2018.

The qualifying marks a candidate has to score in JEE Advanced 2018 for inclusion in various rank lists are shown below. For inclusion in any of the rank lists, the candidates must satisfy the corresponding minimum marks in each of the three subjects (viz., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) as well as the aggregate marks.

JEE Main 2018 Rank List: AIRs will be declared tentatively in June

JoSAA 2018 Rank List for admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will be prepared by the JEE Apex Board as follows:

One set of 8 rank lists based on the performance of candidates in JEE Main 2018 Paper-1 (B.E. / B.Tech.) and Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

Another set of 8 rank lists based on the performance of candidates in JEE Main 2018 Paper-2 (B.Arch. / B.Planning) and Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

Following types of rank lists will be prepared for Joint Seat Allocation 2018-

Common Rank List – It includes candidates, who are assigned the tag GEN, GEN-PwD, OBC-NCL, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC, SC-PwD, ST or ST-PwD. Foreign nationals are also included in the CRL prepared based on JEE (Advanced) 2018.

  1. OBC-NCL: It includes candidates, who are assigned the tag OBC-NCL or OBC-NCL-PwD.
  2. SC: It includes candidates, who are assigned the tag SC or SC-PwD.
  3. ST: It includes candidates, who are assigned the tag ST or ST-PwD.
  4. CRL-PwD: It includes candidates, who are assigned the tag GEN-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD.
  5. OBC-NCL-PwD: It includes candidates, who are assigned the tag OBC-NCL-PwD.

There is a new counseling system that has been introduced by the CBSE that is called JOSAA. The exam has been conducted for taking the admissions in courses such as B.Tech/ B.Planning/ B.E. The main aim of the exam is to provide the admission on a common platform. The candidates can apply for various colleges of engineering from all the nation.
